Who I am: Harrie Willeme

I’m 55 years old, and grew up in the Netherlands. I am married and have two children.

For more than 20 years I have worked as a communication / marketing trainer and adviser. Since 2004, I have worked mainly as a coach and trainer for managers and senior staff.

I have a university degree in Human Geography with a speciality in Communication. To give my extensive professional coaching experience a solid theoretical and psychological basis, I studied between 2007 and 2009, at the Academy of Executive Coaching in London. In January 2009, I was graduated from the Academy as an advanced-level executive coach.

I am a Professional Certified Coach of the International Coach Federation and member of the Association for Coaching.

I consider myself a world citizen, who feels at home in many settings.

From 1993 to 2006, I lived in West Africa. In between, from 1999–2001, I lived in the Netherlands, where I worked as an interim manager for commercial and not-for-profit organizations.

From July 2006, my home region became the Balkans, and my hometown Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Since August 2009, I’m back in Africa, now on the eastern side of the continent. Kampala, the capital city of Uganda, is where my family and I live.

I’m an all-round business coach as well as an experienced and creative leadership and management developer. I have an implementation-focused attitude.

Thanks to my life in Africa and the Balkans, I have extensive experience in working in international and multi-cultural situations.  I consider developing professionals working at the intersections of different cultures, through coaching and training, as my speciality.

I support my clients in improving their business results and person-related goals, since for me, they are strongly linked.

I’m a good listener and able to create a safe and relaxed working environment.

And last, but not least: Creativity and humour constitute the basis of my method of working.
